
Cambourne is a new and thriving community that was formed under the Parish Council of Cambourne Order, 2004. The first elections took place on the 10th June 2004 with the newly formed Councils first meeting taking place on the 14th June 2004. When the Parish Council was formed it had no assets to look after, but was consulted on what was to be transferred over the period of the development of Cambourne.
The Parish Council took over from the MLCC which had been formed to fill the void until the Parish Council was established. The Parish Council has 13 councillors. The Parish Council meets on the 1st Tuesday of the month. The Parish Council then delegates its duties to three Committees:

Which meets twice a month and is responsible for making representations on the following:
Leisure and Amenities Committee

Finance and Policy Committee

A New Blue Wheeled Bin: From October 2010, South Cambridgeshire District Council is changing the way it collects your recyclable waste by replacing the existing green box scheme with a blue wheeled bin, which comes with a specially designed inner caddy to keep paper separate from everything else.
