Cambourne is a new and thriving community that was formed under the Parish Council of Cambourne Order, 2004. The first elections took place on the 10th June 2004 with the newly formed Councils first meeting taking place on the 14th June 2004. When the Parish Council was formed it had no assets to look after, but was consulted on what was to be transferred over the period of the development of Cambourne.
The Parish Council took over from the MLCC which had been formed to fill the void until the Parish Council was established. The Parish Council has 13 councillors. The Parish Council meets on the 1st Tuesday of the month. The Parish Council then delegates its duties to three Committees:
